What is Assist – Travel / Transport?
Assist – Travel / Transport is an NDIS Core Support that helps participants get to and from the appointments, activities, work, education, and services they need to attend, while also building their skills and confidence to travel more independently over time. Transport barriers are among the most commonly cited reasons participants cannot access services or engage with their community — and this support is designed to remove those barriers systematically.
At Disability Dream Care, our travel and transport support takes two complementary forms. For participants who require direct transport assistance — such as being accompanied to and from appointments or activities — our support workers provide safe, reliable, respectful transport in vehicles equipped for accessibility needs. For participants with the capacity to learn, our travel training program systematically builds the skills needed to use public transport, plan routes, and travel independently.
We work with each participant to identify their transport goals, assess any safety considerations, and design a support approach that balances immediate practical need with longer-term independence building. Travel is often the gateway to everything else — employment, healthcare, social connection — and we take this support seriously as an enabler of participants' broader life goals.

Who Is This For?
This support is available to NDIS participants who have transport funding in their NDIS plan, or who access transport as part of a broader support package. It is particularly valuable for participants who cannot drive due to their disability, those who experience sensory or anxiety challenges using public transport independently, people in areas with limited transport infrastructure, and young people building the skills to travel to school, work, or social activities without relying on family members.
