Innovative Community Participation

Goal-focused supports that open new pathways — employment, education, social enterprise, and meaningful community connection.

What is Innovative Community Participation?

Innovative Community Participation (ICP) is a Capacity Building support under the NDIS that funds creative and flexible approaches to building participants' skills, connections, and social capital in the community. Unlike standard community participation support, ICP is specifically designed for goal-oriented outcomes — helping participants work toward employment, education, volunteering, social enterprise, or other significant community roles.

At Disability Dream Care, we design ICP programs in close collaboration with each participant, ensuring the activities and supports are genuinely tailored to their individual aspirations and NDIS plan goals. We explore what matters most to the participant — whether that's getting a job, starting a small project, joining a group or organisation, or pursuing further education — and then build a structured program of support that moves them steadily toward that vision.

ICP is not about attendance — it is about progress and transformation. Our team tracks milestones, adapts supports as participants grow, and celebrates achievements. We also connect participants with employers, training organisations, community groups, and social enterprises that can offer opportunities for real participation in the fabric of their community.

It is especially suitable for young adults, people re-entering the workforce after disability onset, and participants who want to contribute meaningfully to their communities but need structured support and skill development to do so effectively.
